IHG Hotels & Resorts has revealed plans to introduce its Hotel Indigo brand to the Balearic Islands with a 75-room property, planned to open in mid-2026.

This new conversion property will join IHG’s expanding Spanish portfolio, marking the eighth Hotel Indigo in the country, including open and pipeline projects.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe development vice president Willemijn Geels said: “Hotel Indigo has been introducing itself to must-visit destinations around the world at a rapid rate, capturing the spirit of local neighbourhoods everywhere.

“The rich history of Menorca makes it the ideal location for our Hotel Indigo brand where the hotel can capture the true spirit of the neighbourhood.”

Situated in Mahón, the Hotel Indigo Menorca boasts a position with views of the port and access to Menorca Airport.

The hotel will feature private terraces in each room, a restaurant offering views of the sea, and an outdoor pool.

IHG is collaborating with Senator Hotels & Resorts, leveraging their experience in the Balearic Islands.

Senator Hotels & Resorts owner Daniel Rossell said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our successful partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts with Hotel Indigo Menorca.

“IHG has proven to be an industry leader, not only with its global enterprise but also in its collaborative approach to working with owners. This strong foundation sets us up perfectly for continued success and we look forward to immersing guests in a uniquely local experience at the hotel.”

In Spain, IHG currently operates 57 hotels and has another 15 in development.

The new property will join a growing list of Hotel Indigo properties in the country, with four already open and three more in the pipeline.

Last September, IHG unveiled signing of four hotels across various brands, which encompass Vignette Collection and Hotel Indigo, to bolster its footprint in Spain.
