IHG Ana Hotels Group Japan (IHG) has collaborated with Hotel Management International (HMI) to transition three existing hotels into the ANA Crowne Plaza brand.

This marks IHG’s expansion into three new Japanese markets.

The hotels, currently operating under the Crown Palais brand, offer a total of 539 rooms and are slated for rebranding as ANA Crowne Plaza Kochi, ANA Crowne Plaza Chiryu, and ANA Crowne Plaza Hamamatsu.

Hotel Management International president Ryuko Hira said: “We are delighted to be partnering with IHG to convert three HMI Hotel Group hotels to ANA Crowne Plaza and be part of the global IHG system.”

This initiative will integrate the properties into a network that includes more than 20 ANA Crowne Plaza hotels in Japan and extends to over 400 Crowne Plaza hotels globally.

The rebranded hotels are expected to open in the first half of 2026.

IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan CEO and IHG Hotels & Resorts Japan & Micronesia managing director Abhijay Sandilya said: “Converting these properties reflects the attractiveness of our brands, the value of IHG’s global enterprise backed by our strong in-market team with ANA’s support. Together in partnership with HMI, we will lead these hotels into an exciting next chapter.

“Expanding the brand’s presence and adding three new destinations – Kochi, Chiryu and Hamamatsu – to our extensive portfolio across the country offers guests new experiences and options whether they are travelling for leisure, business or blended travel.”

IHG currently comprises 47 operational hotels and an additional 15 in development across the country.

Furthermore, IHG plans to introduce three new brands to the Japanese market within the next three years – Regent Hotels & Resorts, Vignette Collection, and Garner Hotels.

This move comes close on the heels of IHG’s collaboration with Roxy-Pacific Holdings, for the launch of the Vignette Collection brand in the Maldives.
