IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to further strengthen its presence in the European markets with the addition of a series of voco hotel properties.
The recent signings and openings in France, Spain, the UK, Ireland, Austria, Portugal and Belgium have boosted the total number of voco hotels in Europe to 37.

This marks a significant increase of over 25% in the past ten months, compared to the 28 properties at the end of 2022.

The signings include voco Belfast, voco Letchworth Hall, voco Zeal Exeter Science Park in the UK and voco Granada in Spain.

By GlobalDataThe 120-room voco Belfast marks the brand’s debut in Northern Ireland.
The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2024 in partnership with Christe Hospitality.
Located in the Hertfordshire countryside, voco Letchworth Hall, with 87 rooms, is set to open next year.
The property is claimed to have been built by Sir William Lytton in 1620 on an eight-acre estate overlooking Letchworth Golf Club.
IHG’s first net-zero carbon hotel, voco Zeal Exeter Science Park in the UK, is set to open in early 2025.
It will offer 142 rooms along with a range of amenities such as a restaurant, a bar, meeting spaces, gardens, a gym and multiple electric car charging points.
Situated next to the Convention Centre of Granada, voco Granada is scheduled to open in late 2025 with 166 rooms and an on-site food and beverage venue.
The hotels that have already opened include voco Brussels City North, Belgium, which opened in September this year and voco Vienna Prater, Austria, which opened this month.
The list also includes voco Madrid Retiro, Spain, which opened this month; voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa, UK, which opened in May 2023 and voco Paris – Porte de Clichy, France, which also opened recently.
Additionally, voco Algarve Formosa Park in Portugal is set to open by late 2023 and is the brand’s first property in the country.
Located within Ria Formosa Nature Park, near Ancão Beach, the property will boast 61 suites and provide access to two golf courses, a full-service restaurant, a bar and an outdoor pool.
Currently, voco hotels has 55 properties in operation worldwide, with an additional 51 under development.
In the European market, IHG manages 783 operational hotels and has 167 more in progress, spanning 12 of its brands.
