Fortune Hotels, part of the ITC hotel group, has signed an operating agreement to open a new upscale property in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh (UP), India.

The new Fortune Park Gorakhpur Hotel is set to open by October 2026.

Situated in the city’s centre, it will be the brand’s seventh establishment in the state of UP.

Fortune Park Gorakhpur will offer 74 rooms, several dining options, and advanced meeting and banquet facilities.

ETHospitalityWorld.com quoted Fortune Hotels managing director Samir MC as saying: “It was only prudent for us to further strengthen our presence in Uttar Pradesh given the state’s brimming potential for promising returns.

“We already have six strategic alliances in UP, and the signing of this agreement further demonstrates our commitment to the state. Fortune Park Gorakhpur will enable us to cater to all kinds of transient travellers, as well as city guests.

“This up-and-coming region presents a promising opportunity, making it the perfect timing for forging such alliances. With this new property, we emphasise our focus on delivering exceptional hospitality experiences in emerging markets across India.”

The hotel is within walking distance of the railway station, 7.5km from Gorakhpur International Airport, and close to the Gorakhnath Math Temple.

Gorakhpur has been gaining traction as a business hub, with a growing IT and startup sector and an upcoming IT Park.

All these developments are expected to enhance the city’s status as a key urban centre in the region, drawing business travellers and investors, and providing a boost to the local hospitality industry, ETHospitalityWorld.com noted.

Fortune Park Hotels operates a chain of business and leisure hotels.

With 69 signed alliances and more than 5,200 rooms across 59 cities, including Nepal, the brand continues to expand its footprint in the hospitality sector.
