Interstate Hotels & Resorts, a hotel management company of franchised branded and independent hotels and resorts, has appointed Rogier Hurkmans as regional vice president of operations for Continental Europe.
Hurkmans will report to Interstate’s executive vice president of international operations Ken McLaren.
He will not only be responsible for developing the company’s regional, multi-lingual operating platform but also in driving optimal profitability of the managed properties.
McLaren said: “We are delighted Rogier Hurkmans has joined our executive operations team in Continental Europe as we continue to enhance our above-property resources in the region.
“Rogier will fortify our team as we continue to grow, and his wealth of experience driving quality metrics and delivering optimal hotel results, while building lasting partnerships with our ownerships groups, will be integral to our Continental European platform.”
Hurkmans comes with over three decades of hospitality experience. Most recently, he served as cluster general manager with Wyndham Dubai Marina and TRYP by Wyndham Dubai.

He also served as general manager of properties at Steigenberger Hotel Berlin and Crowne Plaza Brussels-Le Palace.
With proficiency in English, Dutch, German and French, Hurkmans brings multilingualism to his new position with Interstate.
Interstate has been strengthening its key management layer. Earlier this month, the hotel management company appointed Andrew Jordan as chief marketing officer to lead the firm in all aspects of revenue including sales, marketing, revenue management, e-commerce and distribution.
The hotel management firm is also bolstering its property portfolio, Last month, it completed the acquisition of the management agreements of 82 premium, full-service hotels, besides one restaurant from White Lodging.
Following this deal, 2,500 new associates, 78 select-service and four full service properties under brands of Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton joined into the portfolio of Interstate.
