Luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental has reached the significant milestone of 40 operational hotels worldwide following the recent openings of two highly anticipated properties in Mayfair, London and Muscat, Oman.

The brand-new Mandarin Oriental, Muscat marks the group’s debut in Oman and is strategically located in the heart of Shatti Al-Qurum.

Meanwhile, London gains a second Mandarin Oriental with the opening of the Mayfair, complementing its existing flagship property at Hyde Park.

Both hotels blend Mandarin Oriental’s signature Asian heritage with a modern, innovative approach.

The openings coincide with a pivotal moment for Mandarin Oriental, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the merger between its two iconic founding properties: the Mandarin, Hong Kong, renowned for its service excellence since 1963, and The Oriental, Bangkok which has represented the pinnacle of luxury hospitality for 150 years.

Looking ahead, the Mandarin Oriental is poised for accelerated growth under the leadership of group CEO Laurent Kleitman.

An additional hotel opening is set for Beijing in the second half of 2024, followed by a robust pipeline of 26 hotels and 14 residences scheduled to open up to 2028, with even more potential projects on the horizon.

“With every new Mandarin Oriental opening, we seek to elevate and enhance our guest experience. We are incredibly proud of our two new locations which embody that ambition, and I am looking forward to them becoming part of their local communities while welcoming our fans from around the world,” said Kleitman in a statement.

“From their enviable locations to the craftsmanship of their designs to the many innovative experiences and exceptional service that awaits our guests, we are confident that we continue to redefine the highest standards of luxury hospitality.”
