Marriott International has signed an exclusive long-term strategic licencing agreement with MGM Resorts International.

The companies also announced the creation of a new resort programme known as MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy.

Anticipated to be available from October this year, the programme will comprise 17 MGM resorts with over 40,000 rooms in Las Vegas and other regions in the US.

Resorts under the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy can be booked on the digital platforms of Marriott, including Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app.

Additionally, the properties can also be booked on MGM Resorts platforms, including MGMRewards.com and the MGM Resorts app.

The members of MGM Resorts’ MGM Rewards loyalty programme will be able to link their accounts with Marriott Bonvoy to get certain member benefits.

All MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy properties will permit Marriott Bonvoy loyalty platform members to accrue and redeem points for their stays.

Marriott International president and CEO Anthony Capuano said: “We are excited to make MGM Resorts’ incredible properties available on Marriott channels, allowing our members to enjoy Marriott Bonvoy benefits when they stay at MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy resorts.

“We look forward to increasing our global room distribution by 2.4% as we grow our presence on the Las Vegas Strip and in other compelling destinations across the US.”

The loyalty members of both parties will obtain access to various perks such as Marriott Bonvoy Moments boosted with sports, entertainment and culinary offerings of MGM.

Apart from this deal, Marriott signed a loyalty marketing deal with BetMGM, an online gaming and sports betting joint venture of MGM Resorts.

Under this agreement, Marriott Bonvoy will serve as the hospitality loyalty programme partner of BetMGM in the US and Canada regions.

The latest development comes after Marriott launched its luxury lifestyle brand, Edition, in Rome.
