Marriott Hotels has completed an extensive renovation work on its property, New York Marriott Marquis, in New York, US.

Originally opened in 1985, the Marriott Marquis hotel is located at the epicentre of Times Square in New York.

The redesign work involved comprehensive transformation of guestrooms, restaurants along with public, meeting and events spaces.

Marriott Hotels vice-president and global brand leader Drew Iddings said: “New York Marriott Marquis is the heartbeat of our Marriott Hotels brand, inclusive of more than 600 properties around the world.

“With the completion of this captivating redesign, we continue to build momentum for the brand’s evolution and modern appeal that is tailormade for our renowned, wonderful hospitality to empower guests’ every pursuit.”

The hotel has 1,971 renovated spacious guestrooms, each featuring platform beds, expanded closets, high-definition televisions, and deluxe walk-in showers.

The space on the eighth-floor lobby, at the hotel’s entrance, has been reconstructed to provide better experience to the guests upon arrival.

Reception desk has been moved to the north side of the hotel from the south side, opening the northernmost wall to natural light. The desks are now separated by wooden archways.

As part of the revamp project, the New York Marriott Marquis has also upgraded its dining and lounge areas including Revel & Rye Bar and Restaurant, Broadway Lounge, Atrium Greatroom lobby and M Club.

Broadway Lounge’s menu includes snacks and cocktails, while the Revel & Rye Bar and Restaurant has a New York-themed dining menu.

Marriott Hotels’ brand signature M Club is a large lounge with nearly 200 seats. It features a business support centre, a library, communal worktables, banquettes as well as electronic devices charging stations.
