Marriott International has signed a management agreement with Cola Holdings and The Westbury Hotel for the first St. Regis brand property in the UK.

Located in Mayfair, London, The St. Regis London will open following transformation of the existing Westbury Mayfair Hotel.

The hotel is expected to feature 196 rooms and suites, designed by Peter Newman-Earp of Morrison Design.

As part of the $122m renovation, the property will see an addition of an eighth floor.

Other amenities including a signature restaurant, speakeasy jazz bar, fitness centre and spa are also part of the design plan.

The hotel’s Polo Bar, which was originally designed for the Phipps family of America, will be retained.

The St. Regis London is slated to open for guests in 2023.

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts vice-president and global brand leader George Fleck said: “This is a pivotal moment for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts as we bring this cherished brand to the United Kingdom.

“St. Regis offers an exquisite experience inspired by the exceptional private retreats of its founding family, the Astors, whose commitment to excellence, sophisticated style, and passion for innovation continue to define the guest experience today.

“We are delighted to bring the brand’s timeless legacy, cherished traditions and bespoke service to one of the finest addresses in London and look forward to becoming the city’s most glamorous destination for locals and travellers alike.”

The new addition will enhance the Marriott’s luxury portfolio across the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Currently, the company operates 16 properties under the St. Regis brand in this region.

In October last year, Marriott announced plans to debut eleven new hotels by 2025 in major leisure destinations.
