Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International has signed an agreement with Guangzhou Aocheng Investment Company to open the ME Guangzhou hotel in China.
This partnership will bring the ME by Meliá brand to the Asia-Pacific region for the first time, with the hotel scheduled to open in 2027.
Situated at Guangzhou Macau PlaceME, the hotel will have 120 rooms and suites, targeting both business and leisure travellers.
The hotel will feature a range of dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, speciality venues, a Mediterranean-style bistro and a rooftop bar.
It will host social and corporate events at its event spaces, including ballrooms and meeting rooms.
Other amenities to be provided at the hotel include a spa and a fitness facility.

The hotel will offer views of the Pearl River as well as easy access to Guangzhou’s landmarks such as the former site of Huangpu Military Academy and Dan Jia Watery Region.
Guangzhou is set to see enhanced connectivity with the construction of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Express Rail Link and the Yuzhu Tunnel, linking key cities in southern China.
ME by Meliá also has plans to open three more hotels this year and next year in Malaga, Spain; Guadalajara, Mexico; and Malta.
