Accor’s midscale hotel brand Mercure has opened Mercure Conacul Cozieni after a renovation and expansion of an early 20th-century mansion in Romania, as reported by Bursa.ro.

Romanian company Next Hospitality will manage the hotel through a management contract.

Next Hospitality CEO Claudia Badiu said: “It gives me great pride to see this spectacular property come to life. It rewards all the hard work, passion and ambition we have put into this development over the last four years, together with the builders, architects, engineers and designers.

“Our goal was to save this architectural gem, preserving its original style and return it to the community with new facilities to meet the needs of today’s travellers and event organisers.”

Surrounded by vineyards and orchards, the four-star hotel features 75 rooms ranging from superior rooms and privilege rooms to modern apartments.

It also offers amenities such as cosmetics, a free minibar, balconies with a pool view and Mercure’s ‘Great Bed for Great Dreams’ concept.

The renovated mansion also provides space for social and business gatherings. Its first floor features a Podgoreanu ballroom that can accommodate up to 250 guests and provides access to a terrace. Its Codrii Vlăsiai serves as a modular event space.

The Elements restaurant and bar serves both local and international cuisine, while Podgoreanu Wine Cellar offers a list of wines.

The hotel also has a terrace overlooking the swimming pool and a spa and recreation area that includes saunas, a meditation room and a fitness facility.

Situated in the city of Cozieni, the hotel is near Pasărea Monastery, Pasărea Lake and Pustnicu Forest. It is also close to the A2 highway.

Additionally, the location is well connected to Bucharest city and is 30 minutes away from Henri Coandă International Airport via car and bus.
