Accor’s midscale hotel chain Mercure has expanded its global portfolio with the launch of a new property in Garut City Center, Indonesia.

The hotel offers easy access to business districts, government offices, banks, and Ciplaz Garut shopping centre for business and leisure travellers. It is also near the Tropikana Waterpark and the Wonderzone Playground.

The Mercure Garut City Center features 160 rooms and suites, along with facilities such as a swimming pool, a gym, and a restaurant.

The hotel also offers four versatile meeting spaces, including two ballrooms that can accommodate up to 450 guests, positioning it as a venue for weddings, conferences, and other events.

Accor Premium, Midscale, and Economy Asia chief operating officer Garth Simmons said: “The opening of Mercure Garut City Center is a significant milestone for Accor in Indonesia.

“As the first Mercure hotel in Garut, this property not only enhances our presence in West Java but also supports the dynamic development of the local community. Mercure’s global presence consists of over 1,000 hotels in more than 60 countries, with over 220 properties currently in development.

In related news, Accor has also announced the signing of Swissôtel Shanghai Hongqiao, which is set to open in mid-2026.

Located in the Shanghai Hongqiao Gubei Business Development Area, the new Swissôtel will cater to both business and leisure travellers with 249 guest rooms and 62 Swissôtel Living apartments for extended stays.
