Minor Hotels, in partnership with Funyard Minor JV (China), has announced the upcoming debut of the Avani Hotels & Resorts brand in China.
Avani Huajian Xinyi Guangdong Resort and Avani+ Xinyi Guangdong Resort are scheduled to open in the first half of this year.
Avani Hotels & Resorts is set to become one of the first international upscale hotel brands in Xinyi, Guangdong Province.
Avani’s design-led properties will blend leisure, culture and ecotourism.
Minor Hotels CEO and Minor International group CEO Dillip Rajakarier said: “Avani Huajian Xinyi Guangdong Resort and Avani+ Xinyi Guangdong Resort will not only mark a significant milestone for Minor Hotels but also for the hospitality landscape in Xinyi.”
Avani Huajian Xinyi Guangdong Resort will feature 86 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, an AvaniFit gym and Xinyi’s first infinity sky pool.

Avani+ Xinyi Guangdong Resort, surrounded by a bamboo forest, will offer 96 modern rooms and suites, some with private balconies and pools.
The resort will also have a restaurant, a bar, an AvaniKids club, an infinity pool, an AvaniFit gym and other facilities.
Minor Hotels Greater China development and operations vice-president Eddy Tiftik said: “Embedded in nature, both properties offer a peaceful setting and a sense of escape. They align with the preferences of our target audience, who seek a hotel that is a destination in itself.
“We believe that when the Avani properties open, they will create a new and exciting holiday option.”
The properties’ location offers guests access to attractions such as a 300-year-old Shiyin Ancestral Temple and Fruit Festival, among others.
Avani Hotels & Resorts, with a strong presence in Asia, the Middle East and southern Africa, plans to continue its expansion into new destinations in 2024.
Last month, Minor Hotels revealed plans to open more than 200 new properties globally within the next three years.
The company also aims to grow its management agreement share from 19% last year to 38% by 2026, targeting more than 150 new agreements.
