Hotel owner-operator Minor Hotels has announced the expansion of its Melbourne portfolio with the acquisition of The Jazz Corner Hotel in Australia, for an undisclosed amount.

The property, which overlooks Flagstaff Gardens and is a short walk from the Queen Victoria Markets, will retain its existing name.

The Jazz Corner Hotel offers themed suites that are said to pay tribute to jazz icons such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and more.

Each suite includes amenities such as kitchen and dining areas, in-room laundry, and designer bathrooms.

Additional amenities provided at the property include a gym, a café, and the Mezzanine restaurant and bar, offering a range of cocktails and casual dining options.

Minor Hotels Australia and New Zealand chief operating officer Craig Hooley said: “We are excited to add this distinctive property to our Melbourne portfolio.

Earlier this month, Minor Hotels revealed its plans to rebrand the Peace Resort Samui in Thailand as NH Collection Samui.

This move marks the upscale brand’s introduction to the Thai market, with the rebranded property set to open on 1 January 2025 following an extensive upgrade.

Minor Hotels currently has a portfolio that includes more than 79,000 rooms in over 550 hotels, resorts, and serviced suites across various brands such as Anantara, Avani, and Oaks.
