Moxy Hotels, a part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 31 hotel brands, has announced the opening of Moxy Sydney Airport, marking the brand’s entry into Australia.

Situated in Mascot, a suburb in the inner south of Sydney, the hotel features 301 rooms that bring together functionality and flexibility.

The rooms feature modular furniture as well as tech-savvy elements, such as motion-activated LED lights, keyless entry and 55-inch flat-screen TVs.

It is 10 minutes from Sydney International Airport via the hotel’s pink shuttle bus and 20 minutes from the city’s central business district. It is also a short train ride away from the Royal Botanic Garden and the Sydney Opera House.

Moxy Hotels vice-president and global brand leader Matthew Boettcher said: “We are thrilled to continue to grow our global portfolio and introduce the energetic Moxy brand to Australia with the opening of Moxy Sydney Airport.

“Sydney is a city of iconic attractions and urban excitement, making it the perfect destination for a spirited brand like Moxy. We look forward to welcoming our fun-hunters to this world-class city and experience Moxy’s young-at-heart spirit and disruptive hotel experience.”

The hotel’s lobby, designed as a multi-functional work and interactive social space, is centred around the hotel bar.

This lobby features a living room, which serves as a laid-back communal space with a collection of nostalgic pieces, including a 1970s photobooth.

The dining options at the property include Little Baxter, which offers grab n’ go bites; Bar Moxy, which serves a list of cocktails, wines and local brews and Moxy Pick-Ups, which offers a convenient option for guests with grab-and-go snacks and drinks.

It boasts five meeting venues, including a boardroom called Arthouse; rock-n-roll-inspired the Record Room and Moxy Terrace, as an alfresco option.

Guests can also access the hotel’s 24/7 fitness facility, equipped with a Moxy pink boxing bag and rent a Moxy bike to explore the local area.
