New World Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in China with the grand opening of the New World Chongqing Hotel on 29 June 2024.

The hotel marks the brand’s debut in Chongqing, a major city within the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

Located on Yuhu Island in Yuhu Lake in the Bishan district, the hotel’s design integrates with the surroundings and features a screen showcasing the Jinyun and Bishan Mountains at the entrance and expansive windows in the lobby.

“We are thrilled about the opening of our first upper-upscale hotel in China, which is also the first in our hospitality portfolio to be managed by New World Tongpai Hotels Group,” said Gilbert Ee, CEO of New World Chongqing’s property developer, the GSH Corporation.

“The hotel’s unique location in the heart of the picturesque Yuhu Lake, paired with its world-class design and stellar amenities, makes New World Chongqing Hotel an iconic landmark that embodies the Bishan district’s environmental and cultural heritage.”
