Thailand-based hotel operator Centara Hotels & Resorts will expand its portfolio in Oman with the launch of a new hotel in Muscat.
The new Centara Muscat Hotel, which is scheduled to open on 1 June 2015, will be owned by Irfan International Hotel and will be managed by Centara under a management contract.
The new hotel represents the second Centara property in the Middle East following the launch of a property in Qatar in February 2014.
Centara Hotels & Resorts CEO Thirayuth Chirathivat said that the Middle East is a strategic region for the company and it is delighted to be announcing the opening of the Centara Muscat Hotel.
"Oman becomes our tenth overseas destination, and we deeply appreciate the trust that international investors are placing in our unique Thai style of hotel management," Chirathivat added.
Centara Muscat Hotel will have around 154 guestrooms, two food and beverage outlets, a swimming pool, a spa and a fitness centre.

Centara Hotels & Resorts sales and marketing senior vice president Chris Bailey said the company has a strong marketing organisation within the Middle East, along with a very large customer base.
"Our guest mix will be both leisure and business, and the hotel facilities will reflect this," Bailey added.
Currently, Centara operates 46 properties covering all the major tourist destinations in Thailand.
Additionally, the company’s 21 resorts in Maldives, Vietnam, Shanghai, Bali, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Qatar and Laos bring its total number of properties to 67.
