Hospitality firm Hilton Worldwide‘s brand Hilton Hotels & Resorts has opened a new 298-room Hilton Barra property in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Located on Avenida Abelardo Bueno in the centre of the Barra da Tijuca neighbourhood, the nine-story Hilton Barra Rio de Janeiro was developed by Carvalho Hosken.
Hilton Worldwide global head full service brands Rob Palleschi said: "Hilton Barra Rio de Janeiro is a one-of-a-kind property featuring a sleek, sustainable design that nods to the rich culture of this historic, cosmopolitan city and elevates our overall presence in this pivotal Latin America destination.
"This project marks an exciting milestone for Hilton as we continue to break into new Latin American markets to deliver the unmatched hospitality experience Hilton is known for."
The new property is near to Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport and Jacarepaguá Airport in Barra da Tijuca, as well as to the Olympic Park and beaches in Barra. It offers easy access to multiple corporate offices, convention and shopping centres and entertainment areas, including HSBC Arena, Rock City and Citibank Hall.
Hilton Worldwide Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America senior vice-president Tom Potter said: "This project, fuelled by innovation and leading technology, is the result of the hard work and dedication of many team members and partners, all driven by the desire to deliver exceptional guest experiences in one of the world’s happiest cities."
