Hilton Worldwide has signed a new management contract with PT Putragaya Wahana for the launch of a new Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The new 181-key Waldorf Astoria Jakarta, which is slated to open in 2018, will represent the second property for the brand in the country.
Waldorf Astoria Jakarta will be situated along Jalan MH Thamrin road in the centre of the central business district, around 32km from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Hilton Worldwide luxury brands global head John Vanderslice said the announcement is part of Waldorf Astoria’s plan to strengthen and expand the group’s growing portfolio in key destinations worldwide.
"Guests of Waldorf Astoria Jakarta can expect to receive True Waldorf Service resulting in a truly luxurious experience," Vanderslice added.
The new hotel will be located near to the country headquarters of multinational corporations, government offices and embassies, and will offer direct access to the city’s transportation network as well as easy access to restaurants and shopping.

By GlobalDataWaldorf Astoria Jakarta will be part of a 74-storey mixed-use development, which is currently set to be the tallest hotel in the city, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates.
The property will include guest rooms and 60m² suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, a destination bar and the signature Peacock Alley lobby lounge.
Amenities at the hotel will include a 2,000m² ballroom, meeting rooms, a business centre, an outdoor pool, a health club and spa as well as a library lounge.
PT Putragaya Wahana president director Alvin Gozali said the company’s partnership with Hilton Worldwide is part of its vision to build a landmark in the heart of Jakarta’s financial district.
"As a real estate developer, we’re eager to welcome one of the most luxurious and prestigious hotel brands to the capital of Indonesia," Gozali added.
