InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has launched its Hotel Indigo brand in Russia with the opening of a new hotel in St. Petersburg.
The new Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg – Tchaikovskogo, which is operated under a franchise agreement with Vega, has 119 bedrooms featuring floor-to-ceiling murals based on the neighbouring Summer Garden, the Foundry metal works and river embankments.
Hotel Indig? St.Petersburg – Tchaikovskogo owner Viktoria Shamlikashvili said the hotel is located in the heart of St. Petersburg, near the Summer Garden, the State Russian Museum, and opposite the first metal works.
"As a result, Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg – Tchaikoyskogo is a great opportunity to create a uniquely designed hotel in harmony with its local neighbourhood," Shamlikashvili added.
The new property features free Wi-Fi across the hotel and iPod docking station in the bedrooms.
IHG Europe upscale and luxury brands brand management vice president Tom Rowntree said that Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg – Tchaikovskogo will be the first Hotel Indigo to open in Russia.

Launched in the US in 2004, Hotel Indigo is one of IHG’s youngest brands.
