Loews Hotels & Resorts, a wholly owned-subsidiary of Loews Corporation, has acquired the 556-room InterContinental Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, US.
The hotel, which is located in close proximity to O’Hare Airport and downtown Chicago, and across the street from the Donald E. Stephen’s Convention Center, has been converted to the Loews Hotels brand and renamed the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel.
The hotel features three restaurants and bars, more than 53,000ft² of meeting and event space, and a curated art gallery.
Loews Hotels & Resorts president and CEO Paul Whetsell said: "As we grow and expand the brand, we always look for properties that appeal to all kinds of travellers – leisure travellers, the business traveller as well as groups."
"Loews Hotels has a strong presence in serving the meetings market and we’re excited about the wealth of meetings and event opportunities that the addition of Loews Chicago O’Hare will provide for our customers," Whetsell added.
This acquisition is part of Loews Hotels & Resorts’ strategy to expand its footprint throughout the Midwest.
