US architecture, engineering, programme- and construction-management firm McKissack & McKissack has opened the $1.4bn MGM National Harbour resort casino in the country.
The American company has been responsible for delivering project management, budget management, schedule development and diversity management services for the resort casino project.
McKissack & McKissack chairwoman and chief executive officer Deryl McKissack said: “It's been a tremendous experience partnering with MGM Resorts International on the MGM National Harbour resort.
“With our history of delivering complex, high-profile projects nationwide, including the acclaimed National Museum of African American History and Culture, we were able to meet the planning, construction, and infrastructure challenges of this important community asset.”
Constructed on a 23-acre area, the new MGM National Harbour resort is located on the Potomac River in Prince George's County, Maryland, US, and is about ten miles from downtown Washington, D.C.
MGM National Harbour president and chief operating officer Lorenzo Creighton said: “McKissack & McKissack represents the best of the best in their industry.

The hotel features 24 storeys, 308 rooms and suites for accommodation, and a 50,000ft2 of meeting space.
MGM National Harbour resort also includes a spa, a 125,000ft2 casino and a theatre venue with an accommodation for 3,000 guests.
