Spanish hotel company Melia Hotels International has inked agreements for two new hotels in Qatar and Indonesia.

The future Meliá Doha is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2015, and the Gran Meliá Bintan will open in 2017.

The 280-room five-star Meliá Doha hotel will be located in West Bay and will be the operator’s third in the GCC. It will be housed in the 41-floor Bin Samikh Tower.

Among the rooms at Melia Doha will be 37 suites, ranging from executive to the Royal Suite, while the property will also feature international and specialist restaurants, separate spas for both men and women, pools, and a gym.

"International travel is unthinkable without destinations such as Bali or Bintan, and our company continues will continue to promote them in the future."

The Meliá Doha will be owned and managed by Tamniyat Qatar Real Estate.

The Gran Meliá Bintan will be the second Gran Meliá hotel in Indonesia. It will offer 120 spacious suites and 38 villas with one, two or four bedrooms, in a resort with a Mediterranean style.
