Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has inked an agreement with IOI Properties Group to manage two hotels in Malaysia as part of its long-term strategy to expand its footprint in the country.
The new hotels, Four Points by Sheraton Puchong and Le Méridien Putrajaya, are slated to open in late 2014 and 2015, respectively.
The two new properties are expected to add 599 rooms to Starwood’s portfolio in Malaysia.
Four Points by Sheraton Puchong will feature 249 guestrooms, including 12 executive suites. The hotel will also feature 1,110m² of meeting space, including an 800m² ballroom.
Other amenities at the hotel will include a swimming pool, two food and beverage venues, a fitness centre, and free Wi-Fi.
Upon completion, Four Points by Sheraton Puchong will be the fifth Four Points by Sheraton property in Malaysia.

By GlobalDataLe Méridien Putrajaya will be the brand’s third hotel in Malaysia after Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur and Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu.
The property will offer 350 guestrooms and will feature two restaurant concepts, a fitness centre, spa facilities, and a swimming pool. The hotel will have more than 1,630m² of meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts South-East Asia regional vice president Chuck Abbott said the company is delighted to announce the new hotel signings, underscoring the company’s expansion plans in Malaysia.
