Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in collaboration with Shenzhen Hazens Real Estate Group is planning to build W Los Angeles Downtown in order to expand W brand’s presence in Los Angeles.
The hotel will be located at the corner of St Figueroa and 11th Street, which is directly across the LA LIVE entertainment complex. It will be in close proximity to Club Microsoft, ESPN Zone, Los Angeles Convention Center and Staples Center.
Featuring the brand’s cutting-edge design and Whatever/Whenever service philosophy, W Los Angeles Downtown will have 250 guest rooms and suites. The hotel lobby will be designed in a way that guests will be able to have leisure time.
It will also include a 5,000ft² spa with eight treatment rooms, 15,300ft² of state-of-the-art meeting and event space, and a 2,500ft² outdoor WET pool deck, which will feature a poolside bar and grill.
The development will feature three towers, including W Los Angeles Downtown, 650 unbranded residential condominiums and up to 80,000ft² of premium retail and restaurant space.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide North America Development senior vice-president Allison Reid said: "Los Angeles is one of the world’s leading tourist destinations and an important gateway market for travellers arriving from China and other East Asian countries, and we are excited to introduce a new W into this dynamic part of the city.
