21c Museum Hotels has started building its 21c Bentonville hotel project in Arkansas, US.
The hotel will complement the $150m Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, which is being built a quarter of a mile away.
The 100,000ft2, 104-room property will have a 125-seat restaurant, a ballroom, meeting space and boardrooms.
Scheduled to open in January 2013, the hotel will also have outdoor spaces for private functions.
According to the company, guests can take advantage of its 12,000ft2 contemporary art museum and sculpture garden.
Flintco Construction of Springdale, Arkansas, will manage the construction of the hotel, which will be designed by New York City-based Deborah Berke & Partners, which also designed the Louisville 21c hotel.

Although the project’s cost was not officially disclosed, Business First reported in a 2010 article that the project could be worth $28m.
The Arkansas property will be owned by 21c, the Waltons and Bentonville Revitalization, a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving the city’s historic structures.
21c Museum Hotels will also develop 15 properties over the next ten years, with a hotel currently under development in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, US.
