The Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) in Oman has expanded its tourism offerings with the inauguration of new hotel facilities.
It has also increased investments in the sector, all through the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ).
The latest move has increased the number of hotel options in the zone to 15, with the total number of available hotel rooms in Duqm now surpassing 2,461.
The hotel sector in Duqm provides a diverse range of accommodations, including an array of four-star hotels such as Crowne Plaza Duqm and Park Inn Resort Duqm.
Budget-friendly options at Duqm include three-star hotels such as Al Madina Hotel and Asian Hotel.
The zone further includes a variety of serviced apartments, such as Ocean Hotel Apartments, Royal Land Suites, Discovery Hotel Apartments, Dar al Jawhara, Dar al Dhiyafa and Duqm Suites.

Special Economic Zone at Duqm acting CEO Ahmed bin Ali Akaak said: “Visitors can take a break at one of the hotels, resorts, or serviced apartments available in Duqm, which cater to the needs of tourists and families.
“This year saw the opening of three new hotel establishments: Duqm Express Hotel, Al Madina Express Hotel Duqm, and Royal Plaza Hotel Duqm. Last year also witnessed the opening of the Grand Orchid Hotel Apartments and Duqm Plaza Hotel. These hotels represent a significant addition to the hotel sector in Duqm.”
The location also provides access to attractions, including Rock Garden in Wilayat and the Arabian Oryx Sanctuary, which is located less than a two-hour drive from Duqm.
