Hawaii-based hotel chain OUTRIGGER has partnered with SONIFI to provide the best in-room technology for Waikiki Paradise Hotel guests.

The refurbishment extends to the hotel’s 443 guest rooms and suites, which now feature local artwork and murals by Hawaiian artisans.

In a significant technological advancement, Outrigger partnered with Sonifi to overhaul its high-speed internet access (HSIA) network, utilising G.hn technology.

This allows the hotel to deliver gigabit network speeds using the existing coaxial cabling infrastructure.

Sonifi’s internet services general manager Paul Johnson said: “Outrigger Waikīkī Paradise Hotel is a consistently high-occupancy property, typically with more than one guest per room, meaning there are multiple connected devices at a time in every room. That requires a solid, reliable network across the property to support all the guest devices, in-room technology and hotel management systems.

“Taking rooms out of service to run new cabling wasn’t feasible, so we worked closely with the property’s IT team to update their network with a G.hn solution.”

The upgraded network not only ensures reliable and high-speed Wi-Fi for guests but also supports the hotel’s operational requirements.

In addition, it underpins the deployment of additional Sonifi technologies within the guest rooms, including interactive TVs with bespoke branding options.

Guests can now enjoy a entertainment experience with free-to-guest programming from DIRECTV, which includes a custom channel lineup catering to the hotel’s international clientele.

The rooms are also equipped with STAYCAST, a feature that allows guests to securely stream content from thousands of apps directly to their in-room TV using their personal devices.
