Radisson Hotel Group is set to launch the first Radisson Collection property in Madrid in 2027, bringing the number of hotels under this brand in Spain to nine.
The new hotel will provide luxury hospitality on Alcala Street in the Canalejas area, surrounded by luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Hermès.
The existing classical building, owned by Radisson’s strategic partner Generali, will be converted into a mixed-use establishment.
The heritage-protected building will combine premium retail spaces with 154 guest rooms and suites across ten floors, topped with a rooftop offering panoramic views over the city.
Radisson Hotel Group executive vice chairman Federico J González said: “With a spectacular location, the arrival of our lifestyle luxury Radisson Collection brand in Madrid will be a catalyst to accelerate the development of Radisson Hotel Group in Spain, where we currently have eight hotels in operation and now this landmark project under development, as well as some others that we will announce soon.
“We are proud to debut this project alongside Generali, a strategic partner of the group with whom we have already collaborated in Rome and Venice. This will be an iconic hotel in Madrid and a privileged destination for both local and international guests.”

Designed by Lamela Architecture Studio, the hotel is expected to become a new benchmark for luxury and sophistication in Madrid.
The design will pay homage to the historical architecture while infusing the Radisson Collection’s bespoke modern luxury.
The property’s location at the heart of Madrid’s cultural and commercial hub is expected to make it a premier destination for international travellers and local patrons.
Generali Real Estate, Southern Europe region head Benedetto Giustiniani said: “The transformation of the iconic Alcalá 21 building into a Radisson Collection hotel represents another important step in our ongoing growth as investors in the European hospitality sector, with an incredible asset that enriches Generali’s hotel property portfolio.
“We are also very pleased to strengthen our cooperation with a top-tier global player like Radisson Hotel Group at the European level, following the successful collaborations on the prestigious Radisson Collection Hotel, Roma Antica in Rome and Radisson Collection Hotel, Palazzo Nani in Venice.”
The Radisson Collection portfolio currently comprises nearly 65 hotels in operation and under development worldwide.
Recent expansions include entries in Paris, Riyadh and Amman Abdoun, and openings in Roma Antica and Srinagar.
Upcoming openings are anticipated in Budapest, Casablanca, Brussels, and Lake Como.
