Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) has announced the opening of a new hotel in Gyumri, Armenia, marking the namesake brand’s debut in the country.

The inauguration of the Radisson Hotel & Spa Gyumri marks RHG’s expansion strategy in Armenia and an extension of the group’s hospitality offerings.

It follows the successful 2016 launch of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Yerevan.

The Gyumri property elevates the group’s portfolio to 17 hotels across the Caucasus and Central Asia, either active or in progress.

Radisson Hotel & Spa Gyumri offers 64 rooms featuring Scandinavian-inspired design. The hotel is designed to cater to both leisure and business travellers.

Radisson Hotel Group business development senior director Maria Znova said: “We are thrilled to introduce the Radisson brand to Armenia with the opening of Radisson Hotel & Spa Gyumri.

“We are proud to collaborate with Alecpol Projects Management and look forward to a successful partnership as we continue expanding in this dynamic region.”

Guests at the hotel have exclusive access to the iconic Alexandra Spa Centre, a historically protected building from the late 1880s.

Radisson Hotel & Spa Gyumri also provides meeting and event spaces for corporate meetings to special celebrations.

Alecpol Projects Management director Arman Barseghyan said: “Transforming Shiraz Plaza Hotel & Spa into Radisson Hotel & Spa Gyumri is an exciting step for us.

“Partnering with Radisson Hotel Group on this landmark project allows us to introduce a world-class hospitality experience to Gyumri, contributing to the city’s growth as a premier destination in the region.”

Last February, RHG signed the Radisson Collection Resort & Spa, Jaipur, India. This will be the group’s fourth venture in the city and the third Radisson Collection property in South Asia.
