Sabre Hospitality, part of the global travel technology company Sabre, has announced the upcoming release of the new SynXis Pay solution, which aims to alleviate the difficulties associated with hotel payments.

This system will cater to both travellers and hoteliers, integrating with over 250 alternative payment methods such as PayPal or Apple Pay to provide flexibility during the checkout process on hotel websites.

In addition, SynXis Pay will offer hotel guests an express checkout option in the SynXis Booking Engine when using Apple Pay or Google Pay.

This feature now can manage multiple payment types in a single platform.

Developed in partnership with CellPoint Digital, the payment orchestration layer will optimise global payment acceptance by connecting to various gateways and selecting the most appropriate payment methods depending on the guest’s location.

The new payment solution also addresses the challenges of currency conversion and foreign exchange rates for hotels.

By working with payment partners in the ecosystem, hotels can customise payouts in their local currency, thereby streamlining the reconciliation process.

Sabre Hospitality product management vice president Juan Abello said: “At Sabre Hospitality, we love to solve complex travel challenges in ways that benefit both our customers and travellers.

“SynXis Pay is a prime example of that mission, offering travellers the flexibility and personalisation they desire, while simplifying the resulting output and payout for our hoteliers. For some time, both sides of hospitality transactions have been hungry for improved payment processes. This is the truest definition of a ‘win-win’ scenario.”

SynXis Pay is scheduled for a phased release over the coming months.

In June 2024, Sabre Hospitality’s unveiling of SynXis Concierge.AI marked the company’s entry into the generative AI technology space.
