Sarova Hotels & Resorts has further bolstered its presence in Kenya with the signing of a franchise deal with Maiyan Luxury Resort in Kenya, as reported by The Kenyan Wall Street.
Maiyan Luxury Resort is set to become Sarova Maiyan Nanyuki, effective November 1, 2023, marking the ninth property to be converted to the Sarova Hotels & Resorts brand.
According to Business Daily, Maiyan will pay a one-time franchise fee along with loyalty charges to Sarova.
Maiyan Luxury Resort chairman James Mworia told Business Daily: “This partnership is more than just a collaboration; it’s a realisation of our shared vision to create a world-class destination.
“Our dedicated staff will have the opportunity to learn and implement best practices from an experienced and well-respected brand like Sarova.”
Situated in the Nanyuki region of Laikipia County, Sarova Maiyan Nanyuki is spread across 113 acres of land overlooking Mount Kenya and Lolldaiga Hills.

Founded in 1972, Sarova Hotels currently has eight properties spread across Kenya.
These are Sarova Stanley, Sarova Panafric, Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa, Sarova Mara Game Camp, Sarova Woodlands, Sarova Imperial, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge and Sarova Shaba Game Lodge.
Additionally, in recent months, the Mount Kenya region, notably Laikipia County, has seen an increase in demand from domestic as well as international travellers.
