Six Senses, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has signed hotel management agreements with Gruppo Statuto for two properties in Italy.

Gruppo Statuto has previously acquired Six Senses properties in London and Ibiza, as well as Six Senses Rome.

The latest properties are Six Senses Milan, which is set to open in 2025, and Six Senses Lake Como, expected to open in 2028.

To be located in the Brera quarter, Six Senses Milan will offer 68 guest rooms, including 15 suites, with two featuring plunge pools.

The property will also have a spa, rooftop bar, and sky pool.

The Six Senses Lake Como, following a full restoration of the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia, will feature 102 rooms and suites within a six-storey property, with a spa and wellness area, outdoor pool, and sun deck.

Giuseppe Statuto owner Gruppo Statuto said: “The Gruppo Statuto Luxury Hotels portfolio is now a benchmark within the high-end hospitality segment, where Italy leads interests and investments, due to its history, culture, and lifestyle.”

Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs said: “Italy moves you like nowhere else. In few places do art, architecture, gastronomy, and the joy of living intertwine so effortlessly. Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como both speak to a purpose.

“The first is intentionally sized and designed for attentive hospitality and holistic wellness within one of Europe’s most dynamic fashion capitals. The second is a serene escape within the most beautiful lakeside gardens just 90 minutes away.”

IHG has expanded its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Italy, more than doubling its presence in 2023.

The Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como will join 30 open hotels in Italy, with an additional eight in development.

This includes the debut of the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and Vignette Collection brands in the country.

The Six Senses Rome opened in 2023 in the restored Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini.

IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio now features nearly 100 open hotels in Europe, with Six Senses properties across France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
