Leisure hospitality brand Sterling Holiday Resorts has announced plans to open its new resort in the Indian state of Kerala, as reported by ET Hospitality World.com.

This is the second resort for Sterling in Waynad, a tourist destination in Kerala, after the current resort at Sultan Bathery.  It is also the seventh resort for Sterling in Kerala.

Situated on a 4.5-acre land in Vythiri village, the resort is 72km from the Calicut airport.

It features 27 furnished suites and cottages and a multicuisine restaurant called Spring Valley, serving authentic local flavors as well as international delicacies.

The main attractions within the resort are the Kambini river flowing through it, a restored Russian army truck, and an 80ft giant bamboo thicket.

Guests can enjoy a range of nearby attractions, including boating in Pookode Lake, Manjappara Viewpoint, Seetha temple at Pulpally, and the glass bridge of Thollayiram Kandi.

The resort is also close to some adventure options such as bamboo rafting at Kuruvadweep, trekking on Chembra Peak, etc.

Sterling Holiday managing director and CEO Vikram Lalvani was quoted by the news agency as saying: This is our 7th resort in Kerala and our portfolio includes: hill stations, lake side, jungle, pilgrimage and drive-to destinations.

“There is a surging tourism demand for Kerala that we would like to tap and we are planning to further expand our presence with more resorts across the state.”

At present, Sterling Holiday Resorts has properties across India, including in Puri, Darjeeling, Gir, Madurai, Nainital, and Shimla, among others.

In June this year, Sterling Holiday Resorts unveiled its new resort in Panchgani, Maharashtra, India, marking its 19th hill station property.
