Taiwan’s Department of Information and Tourism (DOIT) and the Taipei City Government have organised three promotion and industry-exchange activities in Singapore and Malaysia from 21 to 25 August 2023.
The 12 participating enterprises in the campaign include hotels, commercial districts, souvenir sellers, food and drinks, wedding salons and cultural-creative brands.
The campaign seeks to entice more travellers to Taipei, which is a 4 to 5-hour flight from Singapore and Malaysia.
The Taipei City Government has also launched a programme, to run from 1 September 1 to 31 December 2023, in which tourists can purchase a China Airlines ticket for travel from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to Taipei and receive a limited-edition Taipei travel gift bag containing local transportation tickets, shopping district gift coupons and hotel stay vouchers.
Known as “the Singapore and Malaysia Tourist Exclusive Package,” the programme allows tourists to present their passports and receive free food.
The DOIT has also provided suggestions for specific groups of travellers such as Muslims and tourists of Chinese descent to visit particular attractions in Taipei.
