TreeHouse Hotels & Resorts, a hospitality chain owned by Karma Hospitality, has expanded its brand portfolio with the launch of hi-way Motels, The Economic Times reported.

The new brand aims to cater to the growing Indian road travel market, leveraging India’s extensive road network, which is the second-largest worldwide, and the expanding automotive industry.

hi-way Motels will be strategically located along highways and expressways, near smaller towns, or on the bypasses of major cities.

These motels will be modular-built, ground-plus-one structures offering rooms with premium bedding, and modern bathrooms.

Specially designed family rooms with bunk beds for children will also be available, along with complimentary parking for resident guests.

The motels will feature charging stations to charge electric vehicles.

Food and beverage (F&B) options such as hi-way Dhaba restaurants, rental retail outlets, and ATMs of partner banks will also be available.

Additional amenities include paid parking, car wash facilities, and flexible banquet spaces for rent.

TreeHouse Hotels & Resorts partner Ajay Mehtani said: “TreeHouse Hotels & Resorts’ decision to enter the motel space is a strategic move that capitalises on a significant gap in the Indian hospitality sector.

“hi-way Motels by TreeHouse Hotels focus on affordability, convenience, and modern amenities positioning it to cater to the growing demand for comfortable and budget-friendly road trip accommodations. We are currently in discussions with potential partners who have land parcels of anywhere between one to three acres near the expressways.”
