Woodlands Lodge Country House Hotel, a historic property in Hampshire’s New Forest National Park in the UK, has been sold to new owners through business property adviser Christie & Co.

The three-storey detached building is situated within three acres of private gardens near the village of Ashurst.

Christie & Co’s regional director Ed Bellfield said: “The sale of Woodlands Lodge Hotel represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a successful hotel business with significant repeat patronage, largely due to its continued ownership and continuity within the same family for the past 14 years.

“The reputation and success of the business is testament to the continued re-investment and family stewardship combined with its enviable location in picturesque New Forest National Park.”

Surrounded by heathland, native ponies, and forest trails, the hotel offers guests 18 individually appointed en-suite guest bedrooms.

Woodlands Lodge also boasts a reception area, lounge bar, function and conference rooms, and a commercial kitchen.

The hotel’s previous owners Robert and Imogene Anglaret have managed the site for more than 13 years, during which time it has achieved Visit Britain accreditation.

Imogene Anglaret said: “Whilst it is of course sad to have sold a business with which we have been involved for almost 14 years, now is the right time to step back. We wish the new owners every success during their ownership of this profitable hotel in a picturesque location in the New Forest National Park.

“Most importantly, we would like to thank the staff, with whom we have shared this memorable journey, for their hard work and dedication over the years.”

The hotel was sold for a guide price of £1.775m ($1.87m), with Bellfield from Christie & Co overseeing the transaction.

In related news, Christie & Co has been tasked with marketing the former Kirroughtree House Hotel in Newton Stewart.

This 17th century property, once the family seat of the Heron Family, is nestled within eight acres of private grounds. Having operated as a 17-bedroom country house hotel, it presents various development opportunities.

The property, owned since 2012, is now on the market due to the current owners’ retirement. The asking price of the freehold is more than £695,000.
