Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has launched the newly reimagined The Mining Exchange in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a move that represents the entry of the Registry Collection Hotels to the US market.

The 1902 Colorado building was originally a stock exchange for miners.

Managed by Practice Hospitality, the renovated property now includes 128 upgraded guest rooms that feature exposed brick, vaulted ceilings, and vintage-style windows.

The latest move has also introduced a range of on-site culinary venues, including BLK MGK, a full-service coffee bar that serves locally sourced coffee from Hold Fast Coffee and a selection of pastries.

Additionally, the hotel offers Golden Hour, an indoor-outdoor bar and courtyard that hosts live jazz performances on selected evenings.

It also has 15,000ft² of space, including a ballroom, two meeting rooms, an outdoor terrace, and a boardroom, to accommodate conferences, events, and weddings.

Practice Hospitality founder and CEO Bashar Wali said: “The Mining Exchange has been a Colorado icon since 1902. Now, some 120 years on, we are honouring that heritage by creating a hotel imbued with local touches and human connection that has earned the distinction of being the first Registry Collection hotel in the US.”

Registry Collection Hotels was launched in 2021 and currently offers over 20 properties worldwide, with approximately ten more in development.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts President and CEO Geoff Ballotti said: “Today’s affluent travellers increasingly crave the bespoke and immersive experiences that boutique, independently minded operators can offer.

“Through Registry Collection Hotels, we’re committed to curating these one-of-a-kind experiences for guests—all while helping owners tap into the unparalleled scale and resources of the world’s largest hotel franchisor.”

Last month, Wyndham announced the opening of La Vie D’or Hotel and Resort in Hwaseong-si, South Korea.

This property marks the foray of Wyndham’s Trademark Collection brand in the region and features 190 rooms, along with convention facilities.
