Viva Resorts by Wyndham has announced the upcoming opening of its latest resort in the Dominican Republic, Viva Miches by Wyndham, set for 11 December 2024.

The new resort marks the brand’s ninth all-inclusive property in the Caribbean and its sixth in the Dominican Republic, strengthening its presence in the region. The Dominican Republic is expected to reach more than 23m international arrivals by 2027.

With an investment of $80m for the first phase, Viva Miches features three buildings across a 290,000ft² area and is located an hour and a half from Punta Cana International Airport.

The resort will offer 538 rooms and five restaurants, alongside nightly entertainment, a party programme, a weekly craft market and nature excursions.

With a currently unspecified timeline, a second phase will aim to bring the resort to approximately 750 rooms, with a total investment of $130m.

Through the Wyndham Green Programme, Viva Miches will adhere to sustainable initiatives such as waste reduction, the implementation of solar power and the elimination of single-use plastics. The resort also supports Protortuga, an organisation dedicated to sea turtle conservation.
