Accor, in collaboration with Terres de Légendes, has announces plans for The Whimsy Hotel & Spa Saint-Martin – MGallery Collection, marking the first MGallery hotel in the Caribbean.

This development aligns with the brand's strategy to expand its boutique-hotel collection in the region.

Terres de Légendes has signed a master development agreement with Accor for the hotel.

The hotel, which is set to open in 2025, promises to offer a luxurious sanctuary that celebrates Saint-Martin's cultural heritage and natural beauty.

Once a symbol of tourism in Marigot, the iconic Beach Plaza Hotel is being transformed into The Whimsy Hotel & Spa Saint-Martin – MGallery Collection.

The new luxury hotel will pay homage to the French art of living and the vibrant culture of the island.

It aims to become a premier destination for both residents and international travellers, offering a blend of relaxation, adventure, and rejuvenation.

The hotel's location along Saint-Martin's pristine beaches near Marigot allows guests to enjoy the enchanting coastal environment. The Whimsy Hotel & Spa is designed to be a retreat that is claimed to inspire wonder and exploration, with its unique amenities and commitment to showcasing the island's charm.

Sofitel, MGallery, and Emblems CEO Maud Bailly expressed excitement about the new venture, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the signing of our new MGallery hotel in the heart of the Caribbean, a destination on the rise, renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and vibrant culture."

The Whimsy Hotel & Spa will feature 165 rooms, including 40 suites, a restaurant, three bars, a spa with four treatment rooms, a fitness centre, and a 250m² MICE [Meeting, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions] facility. The addition of a unique rooftop bar and beach club is expected to establish the hotel as a significant food, beverage, and entertainment hub on the island.

The MGallery Hotel Collection, known for its signature, design, and heritage hotels, has over 120 luxury boutique hotels globally. With ambitious expansion plans, the brand aims to grow its network and pipeline by 30% by 2030, further solidifying its presence in the luxury hospitality market.

Accor has partnered with French conglomerate Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton to also accelerate the development of Orient Express.
