Accor has announced the opening of a new hotel under the ibis Styles brand in Romania, as reported by RomaniaInsider.com.
The existing three-star Hotel Arges, in downtown Pitesti, will be refurbished and rebranded as ibis Styles.
The hotel chain signed a franchise agreement with local partner HR Eden 2007, which manages the existing hotel.
Located close to Pitesti City Hall, the ibis Styles Pitesti City Centre is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The 45-room hotel will comprise a meeting room that can accommodate up to 30 people and will also feature a restaurant serving Romanian and European breakfast, as well as a bar called Dolcesco.
The interior design of the hotel will draw inspiration from the annual flower festival held in the city.
The hotel’s location is close to several shops, restaurants, parks, Pitesti City Hall, the main square and the fountains.
It is situated 1km away from Pitesti train station.
This announcement comes after Accor announced its plans in June to open over 1,200 hotels in the next five years and aims for its EBITDA to grow by 9 to 12% annually and RevPAR by 3 to 4%.
In July, Accor announced a collaboration with AI-powered content platform Phrasee to optimise its marketing copy to maximise the return on investment and customer engagement.
Accor’s latest announcement on the Romania opening comes after IHG Hotels and Resorts marked the foray of its lifestyle brand into the country in July this year with the signing of Hotel Indigo Satu Mare, which is slated to open in 2024.
This hotel will feature 62 guestrooms, a locally inspired restaurant, a cocktail bar and a spa.
