Accor has signed an agreement with Worldwide Hotels Group for two new properties in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, slated to open in the first quarter of 2025.

This move marks the entry of the Grand Mercure brand in Malaysia and adds a new ibis Styles hotel to the city.

Worldwide Hotels Group CEO Carolyn Choo said: “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our journey to enhance the hospitality landscape in Malaysia.

“Together with Accor, we are confident in delivering exceptional experiences that reflect the unique cultural essence of Kuala Lumpur.”

The new Grand Mercure Kuala Lumpur will be located between the entertainment district of Bukit Bintang and Chinatown.

It will offer 325 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, and versatile meeting and event spaces for social and business events.

The new 168-room ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur will offer an all-day dining restaurant and bar, a self-service laundromat, and a fitness area.

Located in the Bukit Bintang district, the hotel will be near to shopping malls and several dining options.

The latest signings increase Accor's Premium, Midscale, and Economy (PM&E) pipeline in Asia to 46,802 keys.

“The growth of our premium, midscale, and economy portfolio in Malaysia is a testament to the recognition and trust consistently shown by our guests, investors, and hotel partners in the region. We remain committed to our expansion strategy, with a clear roadmap to consolidate our presence in Asia.”
