Amora Beach Resort Phuket in Thailand is set to reopen in December this year after undergoing a refurbishment worth Bt500m ($13.85m).

The property has been transformed into a five-star lifestyle resort catering to active and adventurous couples, friends and families.

Situated on an 80m stretch of Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, the property was originally opened in 1999 as a four-star property.

Owned and managed by Amora Hotels and Resorts, the newly renovated property will now serve as the company’s flagship resort in the country.

Amora Hotels and Resorts owner and director Chaowaphat Siriphatrawan said: “With strong demand returning, the repositioning of Amora Beach Resort Phuket is a timely one, considering the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s re-focus on luxury tourism and new market opportunities, particularly to islands such as Phuket.”

Amora Beach Resort Phuket general manager Lars van der said: “Given the resort’s legacy of providing warm family-oriented service by long-serving staff to regular guests and bolstered by a line-up of attractive facilities for leisure and MICE, I have no doubt that our brand will resonate well with all our guests.”

The resort will offer updated rooms and suites spanning 13 categories, with each room featuring a private balcony or terrace with views of gardens, pools, or the Andaman Sea.

The room options will include superior rooms, deluxe rooms, Amora ocean view rooms, Amora grand pool view or poolside rooms and deluxe family rooms with bunk beds for children.

Additionally, three suite types ranging from 52m² to 144m² will also be offered.

Guests at the resort can dine at Isla, an all-day dining venue serving contemporary as well as Thai cuisine, or enjoy tea and pastries at the Lobby Lounge.

The resort's newly renovated seafront venue, called NORA Beach Club, will offer Mediterranean-fusion cuisine alongside handcrafted cocktails.

Additionally, the rooftop venue ASTRA will provide both an intimate dining experience and space for special events.

The property can also host corporate as well as social events at its Amora Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 400 guests.

The resort’s second floor has four meeting rooms spread across 600m² of space.

The property also boasts a wellness centre, fitness facilities, a kid’s club, a beachfront events lawn and two pools.

Gen Z and their impact on the travel and tourism industry

Gen Z has been called the most disruptive generation ever by Bank of America, and its influence is on the rise at a time of great uncertainty. Gen Z's focus on local and micro-tourism is reshaping the industry towards a more sustainable, community-centric, and culturally enriching approach to travel. This shift is not only influencing the destinations and activities that are popular but also the way travel companies market and provide services to cater to the preferences of this generation.
