Archipelago International, one of Southeast Asia's largest hotel operators, has entered into a strategic partnership with HBX Group, a B2B travel tech company.
The two-year agreement seeks to transform the B2B travel market, promote growth, and improve travel experiences.
It is anticipated that this partnership will make the most of complementary strengths of each of the companies.
Archipelago boasts a portfolio of more than 200 hotels, encompassing 45,000 rooms across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. It also has expertise in hospitality management.
HBX Group has a network of more than 71,000 travel distributors in 190 source markets.
HBX Group’s network will offer Archipelago access to clients around the globe, even those in remote locations.
The partnership is poised to enable Archipelago International to tap into HBX Group's global reach and high-value clientele.
This move is anticipated to expand Archipelago's market presence.
HBX Group commercial-Asia-Pacific vice president Pippa Williamson said: “As an ecosystem player in the travel industry, we provide our customers with interconnected products and services, offering a seamless experience travellers. Collaborating with Archipelago International will help us to expand our business in Asia-Pacific at a time when travel to this region is in high demand.”
"We are excited to embark on a strategic partnership with HBX Group, which will undoubtedly propel our expansion and elevate the travel experiences we offer to our guests. HBX Group's global reach and expertise in the B2B travel sector will be invaluable as we continue to grow our presence in key markets around the world.”
At the core of the partnership is the goal to provide hoteliers with greater choices and the ability to deliver travel experiences to their guests.
Hoteliers affiliated with Archipelago will now have access to HBX Group's extensive network of travel distributors, which could significantly increase the visibility of the hotel group’s properties to a broader audience.
Furthermore, HBX Group's advanced travel tech solutions will equip Archipelago International's properties with the necessary tools to optimise their operations.
These tools are designed to enhance guest satisfaction and drive revenue growth, marking a significant step forward in the use of technology within the hospitality sector.
Archipelago International CEO and president John Flood said: “This partnership is a testament to our commitment to innovation and our unwavering belief in the power of collaboration to shape the future of the hospitality industry. With HBX Group, we will further strengthen our position as a leading hospitality provider in Southeast Asia and beyond.”
In September 2023, Archipelago partnered with STAAH to integrate its online distribution technology.
New Zealand-based STAAH offers cloud-based channel management and booking engine for accommodation providers.
