Japan-based real estate company Tokyo Tatemono and Ascott, a lodging business unit of CapitaLand Investment, have entered a strategic partnership to launch a new Crest Collection-branded property in Tokyo's Yaesu district in Japan.

The SEN/KA TOKYO by The Crest Collection will mark the brand's debut in the country.

Anticipated to open in the latter half of 2029, SEN/KA TOKYO by The Crest Collection will become the 13th establishment in the brand's portfolio.

Ascott Japan country general manager Christian Baudat said: “We are delighted to introduce The Crest Collection brand to the Japanese market through our first joint project with Tokyo Tatemono.

"Located in the Yaesu area near Tokyo Station at the heart of Tokyo, a destination that has increasingly gained global attention, this marks an exciting milestone for Ascott’s asset-light expansion in Japan.”

The hotel-in-residence will occupy four levels of the Tokyo Tatemono-led Yaesu 1-Chome North District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment project.

Featuring 92 guest rooms, the property will cater to both short-term visitors and those seeking extended stays.

Tokyo Tatemono representative director and senior managing executive officer Katsuhito Ozawa said: “Tokyo Tatemono considers this redevelopment project to be of utmost importance, as the Yaesu area, where the project is located, is the founding site of our company.”

The design of SEN/KA TOKYO will intertwine local cultural tales, offering guests a storied stay that honours the property's heritage.

The Crest Collection is renowned for its portfolio of hotels and serviced residences that blend heritage with bespoke hospitality experiences.

SEN/KA TOKYO by The Crest Collection will continue this tradition, drawing from Gofuku-cho's rich history as a hub for esteemed kimono fabric shops frequented by the shogunate and the Imperial Household.

The design of the hotel will reflect Gofuku-cho’s renowned artistry, attention to detail, and craftsmanship.
