Azbil (Thailand), a member of Azbil Group, has announced a collaboration with Fuyo General Lease (Thailand) to provide energy service company (ESCO) services for The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok.

The hotel is owned by Asset World Corporation, a Thailand-based integrated lifestyle real estate group and a member of the Thai Charoen Corporation Group.

This project marks the first collaboration between Azbil (Thailand) and Fuyo General Lease (Thailand) and is undertaken through a shared savings agreement.

Fuyo General Lease (Thailand) is a member of an international group of companies headed by Fuyo General Lease.

Located within Bangkok's central business district, the Athenee Hotel is a five-star property operated in partnership with Marriott International.

The hotel was constructed on the grounds of the former Kandhavas Palace and has deep links to the Thai royal family.

The Athenee Hotel is recognised for its adherence to ISO 20121, which is an international standard for event sustainability management systems.

Azbil (Thailand) plans to implement a building energy management system (BEMS), aiming to enhance the performance of equipment, including air-conditioning and ventilation systems and boost energy efficiency.

The facilities using the BEMS will be owned and managed by Fuyo General Lease (Thailand).

This project is anticipated to lead to an 8% reduction in The Athenee Hotel's overall energy consumption and a 12% decrease in the energy use of its air-conditioning system.

These measures are expected to contribute to a decrease in CO₂ emissions.
