Global hospitality company BWH Hotels has expanded its international footprint with the opening of Best Western Sagita Hotel Jayapura in Indonesia’s Papua province.

This marks BWH Hotels’ entry into the province, offering a contemporary midscale accommodation option in the heart of Jayapura, Papua's largest city.

Best Western Sagita Hotel Jayapura has 72 rooms and suites, each featuring a blend of modern design and cultural elements reflective of the indigenous heritage.

The hotel's strategic location provides easy access to Jayapura's key landmarks, including mangrove forests, Hamadi Beach, and the Jayapura City Tower.

Located 30km away from Sentani International Airport, with direct connections to Jakarta and other Indonesian cities, the hotel is also conveniently positioned for international travellers.

The Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border is two and a half hours drive.

The hotel offers amenities such as a social lobby lounge and an all-day dining restaurant serving a range of cuisines from local dishes to pan-Asian as well as international fare.

Guests can also access six fully equipped meeting rooms for corporate events.

TravelDailyNews quoted BWH Hotels APAC vice president Olivier Berrivin as saying: “We are excited to announce the opening of the Best Western Sagita Hotel Jayapura, which represents a significant milestone in our Indonesian expansion strategy.

“We have made a commitment to provide our brand’s quality standards and services to guests all across this diverse country. As our first property in Papua, this reflects the ability of BWH Hotels’ diverse brands to cater to the needs of owners and travellers in every market.”

Following the addition of the Best Western Sagita Hotel Jayapura, BWH Hotels' portfolio in Indonesia includes 17 properties, encompassing major urban centres, resort destinations such as Bali, and regional hubs, including Manado, Palu, Makassar, and Singaparna, across the archipelago.
