Hyatt Hotels has expanded its presence in Japan with the opening of Caption by Hyatt Namba Osaka in Osaka.
The community-minded hotel features 167 rooms ranging in size from 215ft² to 322ft².
It also offers a range of self-activated touchpoints, social spaces, a 24-hour fitness centre and coin laundry, among others.
The DIY touchpoints comprise self-service check-in, digital keys, hydration stations on every floor, food and beverage concepts and more.
The hotel further provides Caption by Hyatt brand’s 'Talk Shop', a reimagined arrival concept.
This concept serves as an all-day lounge, workspace, coffee shop, eatery, grab-and-go artisanal market, and cocktail bar.
Hyatt Japan and Micronesia vice-president Sam Sakamura said: “We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Caption by Hyatt brand hotel in Japan in the heart of Osaka, bringing a brand that combines the design and comfort of a lifestyle hotel with the flexibility of a select-service property.
“Fostering community is a vital part of the Caption by Hyatt ethos and Caption by Hyatt Namba Osaka will certainly play a key role in delivering on that within the vibrant Namba neighbourhood. This debut will contribute to the growth of Japan’s tourism sector while leading the way in facilitating stronger, more authentic social connections for all travellers.”
The opening of the latest hotels follows the launch of Caption by Hyatt Zhongshan Park Shanghai in April 2024.
The brand made its global debut in June 2022 with Caption by Hyatt Beale Street Memphis in the US.
Looking ahead, Hyatt plans to introduce new Caption by Hyatt hotels in cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Sydney, and Tokyo.
The latest announcement comes shortly after the company opened a new Hyatt Centric property in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
