Chalet Hotels, an owner, developer, asset manager and operator of hotels, has announced plans to renovate a cluster of three properties across India.

Chalet Hotels AVP and Four Points by Sheraton general manager Stephen D'souza revealed the details to ETHospitalityWorld.com.

The properties undergoing renovation include the international brand Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai, and two independent hotels, The Resort at Madh Island Mumbai and The Dukes Retreat at Lonavala.

The Dukes Retreat at Lonavala, an acquired property, has been operational for approximately 35 years.

D'souza noted that the company recognised the need to update these properties given their age, to align with current trends and customer expectations.

He said: “We have been taking feedback from our guests and customers for the last 12 to 18 months and based on this feedback, we have drawn up our renovation and upgradation plans.”

While the renovation for Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai is still in the planning phase, the other two hotels have already commenced their upgrades.

The Dukes Retreat Lonavala is set to expand from 80 to 147 guest rooms upon completion of the renovation.

Additionally, the property will gain approximately 5,500ft² of banqueting space and will open up to 40,000ft² of lawns.

In addition, technology upgrades are noted to be a priority, with ongoing trials of innovative tech in these properties.

Successful ones will be rolled out in future properties.

The company also focuses on marketing the renovated cluster as a preferred location for weddings and corporate MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions] events.

In March, Chalet Hotels signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort in the National Capital Region of India.
