Specialist property adviser Christie & Co has facilitated the sale of Kearton Country Hotel and Tearoom in Thwaite, Yorkshire, UK.

Situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the hospitality establishment dates back to the 1800s.

The stone structure features six en-suite letting rooms, two letting apartments, a restaurant, a bar, a gift shop, and a tearoom.

Additionally, the property has a lawned beer garden at the rear, providing views of Shunner Fell Mountain.

Paul and Wendy Lyons have owned and operated Kearton Country Hotel and Tearoom for more than a decade, and have decided to sell the property as they move towards retirement.

They noted: “We have owned the business for over ten years and were initially attracted to it by the stunning location, the local people and the lovely way of life it offered us.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to sell to seek retirement and we are certain that the new owners will be welcomed and supported as we have, by guests and residents alike.”

The new proprietors, Adam and Caz Edwards, have renovation plans in store for the hotel.

Caz Edwards stated: “We have planned a sympathetic refurbishment in the New Year while maintaining the ambience and much-loved character of the property and promoting traditional values of a warm welcome, good service and a comfortable stay. ”

In May this year, Christie & Co completed the sale of Forest Lodge Hotel and Hadley Park House. Hadley Park House, a Grade II-listed four-star hotel in Telford, Shropshire, was acquired by a local businessman while Forest Lodge Hotel in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, was acquired by an overseas buyer.
